Freshman Coach


Dave Weis


  Coach Weis begins his 10th year at Roswell leading the award winning JROTC program and his 4th season at the helm of the Freshman boys basketball team.  Coach Weis has coached the Rifle Team during his Roswell tenure, earning Region and State Coach of the Year recognition for Rifle in 2011.  Under Coach Weis, in 2012 the JROTC academic team placed 2nd in the entire nation.  At the end of the 2012 school year, Coach Weis was named JROTC Instructor of the Year for the state of Georgia.


  Prior to joining the Roswell basketball staff, Coach Weis led junior basketball teams at both Cherokee and Sequoyah while also coaching Spring travel teams that played in regional and national AAU and YBOA tournaments.  In 2009, Coach Weis led the North Georgia Heat to both the YBOA Georgia state championship and the YBOA national title.


  A graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Coach Weis also possesses a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Leadership from the University of Colorado Springs.  Coach Weis served 22 years in the United States Military in the Signal Corps, 10 years enlisted and 12 years as an officer.


  Coach Weis and his wife Hydee have been married for 22 years.  The couple has two sons, Spencer age 18 and Blake age 14.  Coach Weis also has two older sons, Jonathan and Justin.  Jonathan is a eight year Army veteran and Justin graduated from the University of Maryland and is now commissioned as a Signal Officer in the US Army.
