Junior Varsity Coach
Rod Hufford
Coach Hufford enters his 25th year as a teacher and coach in the Fulton County School System. He teaches Health and Physical Education at Roswell High School. Coach Hufford has been involved with the Roswell boys basketball program in a variety of roles over the last 20 years.
Coach Hufford began his Roswell coaching career as the Freshman boys coach. During the 1990s, Coach Hufford was instrumental in the rise to prominence of Roswell basketball as both the Junior Varsity head coach and the Varsity assistant coach. In 1997, Roswell won the Georgia state basketball championship and garnered national attention through national rankings.
Coach Hufford became head coach of the Roswell Varsity boys program and led the Hornets to their last state tournament appearance during the 2002-2003 campaign. In addition to coaching basketball, Coach Hufford is the varsity assistant coach for Lady Hornet Softball. He was a member of the staff that participated in the 2003 softball state Final Four.
A graduate of Parkview High School in Gwinnett County, Coach Hufford attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA where he received a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. Coach Hufford and his wife Vicki currently live in Cherokee County. The couple has two daughters, Tiffany age 19 and Ashley age 15.
